An Interview with Vena Moore

Another week and another opportunity to dive deep into the world of a writer to uncover their inspirations, hard won wisdom and meet the person behind the pen.
This week we are sitting down with Vena Moore.
So, let’s get started. Vena, could you tell us a little bit about the kind of writing you do here on Medium?
I write mostly personal essays about navigating the many intersections I have as a queer, neurodivergent Black woman. Every now and then, I’ll veer into current events or work issues, though.
What initially brought you to the Medium platform and has it lived up to those ideas?
I can’t pinpoint any exact moment that brought me to the platform. I wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. However, I didn’t really do much to act on this desire for a number of reasons. I didn’t feel I was good enough. I didn’t think that anyone cared about what I had to say. And so on.
