You Can’t Heal in the Same Place You Got Hurt
This is a story from a friend of mine — a reminder I hold onto whenever I need to remember that you are worthy of everything.
Some places hold pain like a scent in the walls — invisible, but always present. You walk through the door, and the air changes. It’s heavier. Quieter. Not because the space has changed, but because you have.
It took me a long time to understand that healing isn’t just about time. It’s also about environment. The people. The energy. The patterns you’re stuck in without even realizing it. We like to believe we’re strong enough to stay where the pain started and somehow rise above it. But often, the bravest thing you can do… is leave.
I learned that lesson the hard way.
The Beginning of the End
The relationship didn’t start as a battlefield. Most don’t. It was sweet in the beginning — full of late-night talks, good morning texts, and those little inside jokes that make you feel like you belong somewhere. I felt seen. Needed. Wanted.
