As of my 46th birthday, I’d been alive for 16,807 days. I’ve kept a journal for 2,133 of those days.

That amounts to 12.7% of my days. (Not a lot, really.)

I wonder how many small moments have been lost to faded memories because I started journaling so late in life or skipped journaling every once in a while.

I’m not looking back with regret about this. That’s a waste of time and energy. Instead, I look forward. Because as I journal, that 12.7% is only going to go up.

This journaling habit is something I’m going to keep alive for as long as I am alive… and I hope I have at least as many days left as I’ve already had.

Melissa Steginus wrote about journaling over at the Productivityist website. If you’ve been looking to take up journaling as a habit, you should read her piece on the subject.
