Early Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada. The history of our holiday is different than that of our neighbours to the south. But there’s one thing that is aligned: it’s a day to be thankful.

I have plenty to be thankful for. I have an amazing wife who is the best thing that ever happened to me. I have a wonderful daughter who makes me prouder every single day I spend watching her grow into a young woman. I have a great son who is so incredibly smart and has a contagious level of curiosity, and just loves spending time with me.

I have a great extended family. I have fantastic friends, both online and offline. I have my health. I have the luxury of running my own business. I have great customers and clients.

It’s six weeks or so before my American friends celebrate Thanksgiving, but it’s never too early to think about what you’re thankful for. And if you want to make sure that your thankfulness doesn’t get lost in the day-to-day, just find a way to keep that from happening now. Create a “gratitude” tag or label in your task app of choice and be sure to apply it to those tasks that warrant it. Create a reminder to send a message of thankfulness to a different person you’re thankful for every day.

Get an early start on Thanksgiving. Maybe use Canada’s Thanksgiving as a trigger to do that.

Thanks for reading.
