The Roosevelt Rule — Quote on coaster

Make no mistake, the number one thing that has captured my attention this week has been COVID-19. Yet, it’s been through that I’ve had something else come to top of mind as well.

I’m calling it The Roosevelt Rule.

Theodore Roosevelt is widely regarded as one of the best presidents in the history of the United States of America. His is one of the faces that you’ll see on Mount Rushmore. He also coined the phrase that I consider to be The Roosevelt Rule:

“Do what you can, where you are, with what you have.”

I think this idea is worth utilizing when looking at your daily tasks. Using The Roosevelt Rule as filter — especially in times of great uncertainty — can really help you be productive with prudence in mind.

So as you begin to plan out as much as you can of the week ahead, do your best to filter your to-do list using The Roosevelt Rule as a guide.
