Feeling lacklustre today? This might pick you up. Here are some of the worst individual all-time records from the world of professional sports.

Brett Favre is the NFL’s all-time leader in interceptions.

Charles Barkley owns the worst career 3-point shooting percentage in NBA history.

Cy Young’s 315 career losses is the most by any pitcher in the history of the MLB.

But what if I told you that all of these places are celebrated in their respective sports? All are hall of famers. Fans don’t think about the interceptions, the missed shots, or the losses when they think of these players. They think of the successes they had throughout their career.

Most players to play in those sports would be elated to have the careers that these athletes had. They were better than a lot of players at many things, the least of which is in the area that they hold these records.

If you want to be an elite performer, you’re going to have to throw more passes, take more shots, and play in more games than a lot of other people paying the same game as you. And you’ll need to accept the fact that you may get picked off more, miss the basket more, and lose more.

Believe that and then you can really believe in your ability to succeed.

These three athletes did that. For everything that they failed at, they succeeded at something else. And they’re remembered for those things, not their failings.

Don’t you want the same?
