When You Should Read Your Journal

Writing in your journal isn’t enough. You need to invest time in reading it.

I’ve learned a lot about myself when I’ve read my journal. The practice has helped me course correct in places where it was needed instead of fumbling around on a path I had no intention of going down.

Reading my journal has given me a more accurate perspective on what I’m doing well… which is helpful when I believe that I’ve not been doing that thing very well at all.

Journaling isn’t just the writing part. It’s the reading part combined with the writing part that makes it journaling. The value isn’t as great without both elements in the process.

So… when should you read your journal?

You should read your journal more often than you are right now.
