Work This Way, Not That Way

When you run your own business — or have a lot of responsibility at your job — and are going away for an extended period of time, you want to make sure that the minimum of what needs doing is done before you go.

But I think you should want more.

I think you should want to give yourself some breathing room. I think you should put yourself in the position to have everything run smoothly while you’re away and for as many days after your return as possible.

You can’t just work faster. That won’t do. You need to work smarter. You need to do more of the right things now so you can do more of what you want to do later.

Working smarter isn’t always easy to do because working smarter isn’t faster…at first. But when you work smarter consistently then the speed will come.

You just need to have the willpower to wait for that to happen.
