The glass you use to drink every day can save America, more so the entire world

Last night I drank a glass of water, suddenly a strange thought passed by. Looking at the current world situation, what can a glass do for the world? America cannot be visited today. Not only because of the spread of coronavirus which hasn’t been gone yet, but also the security, the safety reason. We all know that America right now is in the worst situation ever — even though we indeed know this is not the first time chaos happened in America — in President Trump’s leadership. That is my perspective — because riot happens like everywhere. I’m not going to explain and give the solution on how to bring back and “make America great again” since you know much more than me.

So, as the title above, do you believe that glass, the thing you use to drink every day can save America? If so, we hope ‘this glass’ can save the entire planet. Well, let me explain.

Problem We Face

I’m going to highlight some big events that happened around 2019–2020.

New Zealand Christchurch Mosque Shootings in March, killing 51 people and wounding 49. In June 2019, Theresa May formally resigned over Brexit after three times failed in negotiating to withdraw UK from the EU. Hong Kong Protest over the withdrawal of the extradition bill which began in June 2019. Trump was impeached in August by Democratic leaders. They drafted two articles of impeachment against Trump, charged him with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

In December 2019 till today, according to worldometers i accessed on June 10, coronavirus has been at least killed 413.726 people around the globe — the news says that most of them were having other complications — and has been infected 7.324.876. Making schools, works, are moved into virtually held, limiting people around the globe to go everywhere they wanted and asking them to stay at home.

Then, on May 27, 2020, an elephant died after she ate the pineapple stuffed with firecrackers and it died standing in river Velliyar after it suffered an injury in its lower jaw. And, the George Floyd Protest which puts the US into crises — coronavirus spread and racism protest.

A few explained events above may not problems we face right now. But those events conclude at least one point, this is related to humans. Human is as the subject and object. Even at some, human is the troublemaker. Knowing that most point, I could say that we need to repair our ‘human’, we have to repair ourselves. And this is why a glass here, he wants to give us the most 3 powerful philosophical values he has. Those are fragility, helpful, and long-lasting which are very advantageous for us to build our better future, not only America but also the entire world.

Glass Philosophy

Glass is fragile, so do us. People’s hearts are fragile. You can prove it by mocking someone out there from your house. You can mock someone who passed by and then you’ll be hit in the face by him. It means that we cannot say, do, act something that people hate — coz people’s pleasure are relatives, so I choose the word ‘hate’ — or even do and act something which harming others. This is why we need to implement tolerance in our hearts and mind. Be nice to others. Respecting others won’t make you lose something. Vice versa, it will make our friendships and our societies become better and united. Remove the hatred and bad of the past. We should be able to learn from the past, preserve the good, and get rid of the bad.

Glass and people are fragile, so do nature. Remembering the news where a pregnant elephant who died after suffering injuries after eating a pineapple filled with firecrackers makes us feeling sad and sorry. What kind of human would do that kind of thing? We see no humanity or even human here. Its trunk wrecked and the blood was everywhere until it died. I cannot imagine how was it feel. If we could implement humanity and use it one to another man, to other humans, is there a problem we got when we respecting and loving animals, nature, by upholding humanity?

Although glass is a fragile thing, a glass can bring and protect goodwill for human needs — water. Use that philosophy and implement it in our lives. Use what we have to deliver kindness to others. Help other people. Help them without seeing who is he, where he lives, or what his skin color. We are one. We are the human race. There is no such good human until he is useful for others. Following you build up a helpful personality, make it immortal by emulating the last most powerful value of glass. It’s long-lasting. Glass has a long-lasting character — unless you drop it down. It can be used for years. What we have to do is, preserve our kindness. Oppose bad influences that can change your good characters by doing kindness always. Make kindness sticks to you, maintain it, and make those good values characterize ourselves. Make ‘the glass’ — the philosophical values — becomes yours and you will benefit the whole society or even the planet. As Irina Bokova the former Director-General of UNESCO once said, “The practice of philosophy is a process benefiting the whole of society. It helps to build bridges between peoples and cultures and heightens demand for quality education for all,”

Finally, the three powerful values of glass can be determined. If we uphold them, we can make a glass takes part to make the world better. If everyone in the world applies these 3 qualities of glass, the world will be in immortal peace. No racism, racism is a real and the worst threat from humans for other humans. No killing, we all have the right to live. Last but not least, no hatred, we are the human race, loving each other is a must.

Sounds impossible? We will never know until we try!

Let’s make changes for better America, better societies, better us, and a better world!
