Weekly FAQ Digest: Part 3

Since our launch last year, the Academy Token Telegram group has been a proverbial town square where accomplishments have been shared alongside criticisms. Your engagement in the progression of ACAD has been obvious and your questions have been heard. In this series, we’ll be answering some of the questions you’ve posed in the Telegram group each week.

This week’s FAQ Digest covers some of your questions about our future plans.

I’ve seen people around with Academy t-shirts. Are they — or will they be — available for purchase?

We’re always happy to see people proudly sporting their Academy gear!

Unfortunately, the shirts are not currently for sale. We only handed them out for free at an event in Miami last January. Anyone who took the time to visit our booth and hear about of mission was able to take home a shirt or two.

But never say never. If we decide to sell t-shirts or any other Academy merch at some point in the future, you can be among the first to know by signing up for our newsletter.

When do you plan sharing information about the Advisory Node System?

We are committed to working with and for the Academy community to build the educational infrastructure necessary for the future of blockchain. Our team of curriculum advisors help to keep our courses up-to-date with the latest in blockchain tech, but we’ve known from the beginning that our community members would have valuable insights regarding the needs of the blockchain ecosystem.

Accordingly, we devised the Advisory Node System.

For those who don’t know, our Advisory Node System allows key community stakeholders to submit proposals for curriculum electives, ensuring that the Academy curriculum evolves to meet industry needs now and in the future. The system guides curriculum offerings at Academy and allows significant, expert members of the community — whether individuals or organizations — to propose courses on the curriculum direction of Academy. Proposals are polled and vetted by our curriculum team.

We are working with some of our partners to coordinate this system and the roles they will play within it. As we make progress on this front, we’ll be sharing more information with all of you about how the Advisory Node System is influencing the educational offerings made available to you through ACAD.

Are any classes being taught right now that I can use my Academy Token to pay for? When and where will future courses be available?

The ACADEMY Token can be used for any of the courses taught at Kingsland University.

This year, we have already taught courses in Sofia, Singapore, and — most recently — The Philippines. Courses in Adelaide, Mexico City, Seoul, and Singapore are rolling out before the end of the year. As we approach 2019, we are pleased to share that we have courses scheduled in several additional regions including Mauritius, Kiev, Hungary, Los Angeles, NYC, and many more — all of which you can use the ACAD to pay for course in.

We will be updating the Academy Token website soon with all of the upcoming dates and locations of where you can utilize the ACADEMY Token!
