Acadian Ventures 2021 Summer Internship Program

I am excited to announce our inaugural Summer 2021 internship program. The goal of the internship program is to teach university students about the venture capital industry and identify ways that students can support our firm’s overall strategy, operations, and portfolio performance.

Since this is our inaugural program, we will be learning alongside our interns. Below are a few of the roles and responsibilities we anticipate over the span of the program:

Sourcing & Investing

• Identify potential “investable” companies that fit our investment thesis, fund strategy, and portfolio model
• Participate in meetings with potential investments, provide feedback, analysis, and recommendations
• Create rationale for investment (ie investment memo) including market potential, competitive analysis, opportunities, and threats

Brand & Marketing

• Build out playbooks and tools for portfolio companies
• Manage and build new indexes and VC tracking tools
• Support the creation of our stakeholder communications including our monthly updates, quarterly newsletters, blog posts, and social media
• Support preparation of annual LP meeting

Firm Building & Support

• Update portfolio construction and fund models
• Support portfolio companies as necessary
• Participate in portfolio company meetings, strategy reviews, etc.
• Review portfolio company monthly updates and provide feedback
• Support fundraising efforts as necessary

Commitment & Eligibility

• The program will begin on May 31, 2021 and run through August 27, 2021. Our summer internship program will be fully remote
• We expect our interns in the program will learn, grow, and gain hands-on venture investing experience
• We are strong believers in flexible work but expect to work at least 25 hours per week
• Our internships are open to current students enrolled in an undergraduate
• We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic with interest in pursuing a career in venture capital or entrepreneurship
• We intend to have a small class of 3 interns in the program. Our Summer interns will be awarded a scholarship of $5,000 at the close of the program
