We are excited to announce the mainnet launch of Acala Multichain Asset Router 1.0 which enables seamless liquidity across any Wormhole-supported blockchains and Polkadot parachains. The Acala Multichain Asset Router 1.0 massively enhances developer and user experiences in the multichain environment, where asset transfers from any blockchains to any parachains are seamless within a single transaction via the Acala Network — the liquidity layer of web3 and Polkadot’s leading liquidity gateway.

Why we build the Multichain Asset Router

We believe the future will be multichain, yet the road to that future has led us to various standalone L0 chains such as Polkadot and Kusama, L1 chains such as Ethereum and Polygon, L2 chains such as Optimism and Base, with fragmented liquidity which leads to fragmented developer and user experience. Ultimately real adoption of Web3 requires ubiquitous liquidity agnostic to blockchains and seamless to DApps.

The Acala Multichain Asset Router 1.0 (the Router) solves these challenges by creating trustless and permissionless connectivity between Polkadot’s cross-chain technology Cross-Consensus Message Format (XCM) and Wormhole’s interoperable generic message passing protocol. The Router is effectively a liquidity highway that makes liquidity much more accessible, cheaper, and faster to any DApps/parachains integrates with it.

Future versions of the Router will support generic message passing that allows bi-directional smart contract and Substrate calls, and supports powerful use cases such as any chain to any parachain dApp interactions e.g.

  1. stake DOT on Acala to receive receipt token, then use the receipt token on Interlay as collateral for Bitcoin OR
  2. transfers a token from Ethereum to HydraDX parachain, and participate in its omnipool
  3. transfer a token from Ethereum to Manta Network to trade in privacy

all within a single transaction where the destination parachain needs no bridge nor EVM infrastructure.

The Multichain Asset Router is made possible by hybrid chain technology Acala EVM+ that offers Ethereum-compatible and highly composable development experience while getting the full power, interoperability and customizability of Polkadot’s modular blockchain framework, Substrate.

Scale your TVL with Acala Multichain Asset Router

DApps and parachains can acquire liquidity with minimum code and no infrastructure. Integrate with the Router is easy and frictionless. Acala has top TVL of Polkadot-native assets. Acala also has access to liquidity from Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, and other top ecosystems via Wormhole (launched on Acala). DApps and parachains can seamlessly acquire these liquidity by deploying on Acala EVM+ or connecting with Acala via HRMP and integrate with the Router on top of it.

Audits

Acala’s blockchain is audited by SR Labs on an ongoing basis, and the chain has gone through several audits in the past with top auditing firms including SR Labs, Slow Mist, and Trail of Bits. The Acala Multichain Asset Router has also been audited by Slow Mist and deployed on Acala’s sister network Karura.

About Acala

Acala is building the liquidity layer for web3 finance that is captive and sustainable. It aims to provide infrastructures for HyFi (DeFi+CeFi) solutions with crypto and real-world assets. Acala offers a Universal Asset Hub that hosts multichain liquid staking token (LST) protocols (such as liquid DOT — LDOT), an AMM decentralized exchange, and an app platform that is EVM-compatible and highly customizable (based on Substrate). Acala is secured by Polkadot, and is the liquidity gateway of Polkadot parachains and L1/L2 blockchains.
