Aclass: Indigenous Voices — a free online event organized by Acast for Indigenous podcasters and talent in the industry — will take place virtually on Zoom on Wednesday, November 3, at 1 pm ET / 12 pm CT / 10 am PT.

As part of Acast’s ongoing free event series for new and aspiring podcast creatives, Aclass: Indigenous Voices will give audience members access to resources and knowledge directly from established Indigenous podcasters and experts — while also serving as a platform for conversation around diversity and inclusivity in the space.

“Acast is committed to doing its part and ensuring that podcasting remains a market in which everyone gets a say,” said Vernon Foster II, Content Manager at Acast. “Indigenous creators have been making some amazing works of art in audio that deserved to be showcased — due in part to the hard work and talent of the people you’ll get to hear from at Aclass: Indigenous Voices. We hope to inspire the next generation of Indigenous youth to tell the stories of their people, and to be seen and heard.”

Aclass: Indigenous Voices will feature two sessions where Indigenous creators including Falen Johnson, Ryan McMahon and Natalie Welch will share their experiences of using podcasts storytelling, and what it’s like to work in the industry.

“I’m really excited to be hosting this panel of Indigenous podcasters from all over Turtle Island,” said Dr. Pamela Palmater, who is curating Aclass: Indigenous Voices and is the moderator for the first panel session. “Indigenous nations have varied ways of engaging in storytelling, education, and advocacy. Hearing about their experiences helps inspire new and aspiring Indigenous creators as they tell their own stories.”

At the end of each session, Q&As will take place in which audience members will be able to submit questions to the speakers.

The event program is as follows:

1 pm ET / 12 pm CT / 10 am PT
