We’re excited to share that Elain Szu has joined the Accel family as an executive-in-residence (EIR).

Elain joins us most recently from Twitter, where she led product marketing for Twitter’s exchange business after Twitter acquired Accel portfolio company, MoPub, in 2013. Elain previously led product marketing at MoPub, where she launched MoPub Marketplace, their flagship real-time bidding exchange. Elain was instrumental in helping MoPub grow into a business with over 1.5 billion unique users and 49,000 apps. While our team got to know Elain best during her tenure at MoPub, we first met her at Trulia in 2007 where she was part of Trulia’s early marketing team.

As a seasoned marketer in both business-to-business and consumer spaces, Elain will partner with founders and executives across Accel’s portfolio to provide guidance on overall marketing strategy. We think she’ll be especially helpful in areas like customer segmentation and insight, product positioning and differentiation, marketing team composition and hiring, and go-to-market strategy.

For the last few months, Elain has already been working with a number of early-stage portfolio companies on company positioning, user segmentation and targeting, and product launch work, and has already helped several of Accel’s founders hone their marketing strategy.

Now that Elain is officially on board, we look forward to connecting her with the broader Accel portfolio. She can be reached via LinkedIn, Twitter, or email her at eszu@accel.com.

Welcome to the team, Elain!
