We’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Suresh Vasudevan, former president and CEO of Nimble Storage, to the Accel family as an executive-in-residence (EIR).

We first met Suresh in 2008 when we were recruiting him to run one of our portfolio companies, Omneon. After he successfully led the company through a $300 million+ acquisition by Harmonic, we managed to convince him to join Nimble, yet another Accel portfolio company. At Nimble, he led the company through its 2013 IPO and later negotiated its $1.2 billion acquisition by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

Beforehand, Suresh spent nearly a decade at NetApp in a wide range of executive positions. He led the company’s product strategy and product development and he architected the steady expansion of NetApp’s product portfolio into new markets.

We’ve had the good fortune to see Suresh at work in multiple leadership roles now and we’ve consistently been struck by his talent for successfully scaling young companies into robust organizations. He has an incredible knack for creating process, instilling discipline, and building and managing strong teams across all company stages. Suresh also has deep product and technical experience in storage, data management, security, and cloud infrastructure.

As part of Accel’s EIR program, Suresh will meet with founders and executives within our portfolio to share his insights as a former operator and help them tackle challenges around scaling. You can reach Suresh via LinkedIn, Twitter, or email him at svasudevan@accel.com. Welcome to the team, Suresh!
