We are Accountable — the financial assistant of the self-employed professional

Being self-employed is already so hard in itself. We believe there should be a better way to manage our administrative duties.

Our vision is that managing your taxes should be as easy as booking an Airbnb or ordering a meal on Deliveroo.

💪🏼 The pain we solve

As self-employed workers ourselves, we understand the pain freelancers, lawyers, architects, medical doctors and so on suffer from trying to make sense of their finance. From trying to:

• collect and not lose those (bloody) professional expense receipts,
• get a sense of how much money we are actually earning and always having to guess how much VAT, social contributions and other taxes we will need to pay,
• make sure that, in order to optimise our taxes, we spend the right amounts in the right categories — that, compared to our peers, we follow the same patterns,

…we felt this pain.

We think that there should be a way to make this experience 100x better and allow us to focus on what actually matters — be it family or actual work.

This is a vision, we believe, worth fighting for.

🤩 The team

To make this project a reality, we have assembled the best team we could have ever dreamed of:

Alexis has built an impressive career both in consulting and entrepreneurship, as he participated in the foundations of both Real Impact Analytics and Eager-Analytics, an IoT product startup he set up in Beijing. Building on his strong problem-solving skills and experience in tech, Alexis leads all the activities related to the product.

Hassan, through his career as a chartered accountant, managed to successfully create a fiduciary that delivers value to over 500 satisfied clients. His strong interpersonal skills & excellent knowledge of tax law are key to our success, both through his impact on our product and the managed services we will render to our customers.

Nicolas has also built up his career pioneering new ventures, founding businesses in Europe and in Latin America — where he created from the ground-up the Brazilian office of Real Impact Analytics, before setting-up their global business & product development practices. At Accountable, Nicolas is in charge of all things relative to go-to-market, commercial development and partnerships.

🚀 The roadmap

We are currently building the necessary components to deliver our vision and we expect to release a first version of our product by Jan’18. From there, we will start to onboard new customers and gradually improve our product — thanks to your feedback.

We are already taking on applications for our beta -> to subscribe, leave your contact on our site and we’ll book a seat for you (watch out, only 75 seats reserved at this stage 😉).
