Change your mindset about perfectionism to change your life.

We celebrate perfection towards a craft. We look upon our idols as perfect and strive to emulate them in every way possible. But strict adherence to perfectionism is a fundamental cause of anxiety and procrastination.

If you want to do a project, but are unable to start because the task seems too big or you don’t have all the necessary skills to begin, chances are you are caught in the perfectionism trap.

An easier way to get ahead of the perfectionism trap is to set up an 80% perfect rule. This rule allows you to be imperfect in your skills, tasks, or planning. That doesn’t mean you don’t have to do these at all. It just means you can allow yourself to be 80% perfect.

What does this mean in a practical sense?

It means that you are allowed to apply for a job without all the skills required in the job listing. It means that you are allowed to start a project, where you are clueless about some parts of the project. It means that you are allowed to make a plan without having every little task on paper.

Personally, for me, the 80% perfect rule has been a game-changer. I’m doing things that I would have never done before.

If you are suffering from the perfectionism trap or just have general productivity issues and need consistent accountability to get things done, please check out https://accountably.net to keep you accountable to your goals.

So yeah! What will your 80% perfect rule allow you to do? If you found this useful, please share it with your friends, family, and followers. I would love to see your comments.

Cheers🥂
