Accounteer — April Update
Hello May,
April has come and gone and we are looking forward to a great start this month.
As usual, here is an episode of our monthly update. A lot of activities didn’t come up in April as we were busy upgrading our systems and looking for more ways to serve our customers better.
However, we were up to a few, exciting things and we are so excited to share them with you.
MEST Africa Challenge
Accounteer has emerged winner of the Lagos edition of the MEST Africa Challenge. In a challenging pitch competition, Accounteer had to compete with seven other promising scale-ups, being being Oyapay, Nebula Pay, OVG Media, Jara App, Osusu Mobile, Wallet.ng and PayPass.
We’ll now move on to the next round held in South Africa in June. Thanks to MEST for the opportunity and all the judges. Also a big applause to all the other contestants. They're all promising companies that have earned their space within the Nigerian startup space.
Abuja Office
A lot of support requests have been coming in from users in Abuja and we have responded by activating our Abuja office. Users can stop by our office at Ventures Park: 29 Mambilla Street, off Aso Drive to obtain financial advice and have an account manager assigned to them.
Accounteer Internship
We started our internship program and hired our first intern, Barakat Tiamiyu, a 3rd-year student with leadership and financial experience as Campus Director for Hult Prize and Ambassador of UBA respectively. Think you can be an Accounteer intern? Send your resume to careers@accounteer.com
Entrepreneur in the Spotlight
We always showcase the hard-working entrepreneurs using our platform to our teeming community. Track-a-mechanic, an online platform that connects users to the closest mechanic to them using the GPS feature embedded in their phone had issues with invoicing and receipts but with Accounteer they have been able to add an extra feel of professionalism to their invoicing and bookkeeping.
Community Tour
Our team has been touring co-working spaces to learn first hand from entrepreneurs financial and bookkeeping issues faced. We visited Leadspace, Ventures Park, Cranium One, Box Office Incubator and Civic Lab. Interested in hosting us? Feel free to reach out to us at community@accounteer.com
Product Update
Reporting
The reports module has been extended to include detailed reports on customers and suppliers. You can analyze your figures from within the application are download reports as a PDF or Excel.
Bank Import
We added support for Zenith, StanbicIBTC and First Bank. You can upload bank statements as CSV or Excel.
Paystack as a bankfeed
When your invoices were paid via PayStack the payment was already automatically recorded. We’ll now synchronise all your payment transactions regardless of the channel. So, if you have a webshop or you’re using PayStack payment requests all your transactions will be automatically recorded in Accounteer.
Edit approved documents
Sometimes you make a mistake. It happens. You can now edit approved documents. All the required accounting entries will be generated automatically in the background to ensure the quality of your data.
On the roadmap for next month
While April has just finished, we’re already looking forward to what May will bring.
Inventory
A more advanced inventory module including stock levels will be launched early May. It’s a long-awaited improvement that was long overdue. We’re excited to release it to the public soon, an hope you will be too!
POS
The mobile POS app will be launched in a private beta. With the app you’ll be able to record sales, print receipts and have detailed reports on your sales and inventory. All transactions are seamlessly integrated with your accounting. If you’re interested in testing out the POS app make sure to send us a mail at team@accounteer.com.
Discounts
Discounts is another popular request that’s currently being developed.
