White

Date: 09-09-2018Dear Reader,
Ohio gosaimas! Genki desu ka? (Japanese for Hello, how are you?) Not to cheezy, right? Well, I wanted to make this introduction different from my usual. Since this entry is loosely based on the poem that wrote, I have used the same title and titled this blog “White”. This has a very relatable meaning for me which is also quite metaphoric. You will understand that when you read the poem.
I also made a few sketches and an animation this week.
Most of my time was spent on the animation project for my final year project. It is probably the only thing that I think about these days and that is not something I am especially proud of but I ain’t ashamed either so it’s all cool. So allow me to show you some the artworks.

I would like to let you all know that I am now a huge Aima Baig fan. Like I seriously adore her. She has made a huge leap in terms of her vocals, presence and looks this time around in Coke Studio Season 11. Her song Malang is now one of my all-time top Coke Studio Songs and that is a feat in its own. I am listening to it right now while writing this. Lol, didn’t see that coming, did you?
Ok, so another thing was this animation and here you go.

I also had a great conversation with “white” today and we had to have that. It was a very small thing that made a huge difference, because of which this poem may make more sense to you. Hope you like it.
White
Glassy eyes in shivering white, there you were in my line of sight
Peeking in for a perfect pic, hence you didn’t dare to blink,
You did use a few muscles to form a smile,
That little pompous smirk was easy to hide
With a radiance that glowed raging high
You looked brilliant even in this month of July
My heart skipped a beat, I won’t lie
When I saw you through the mirror from way up high
Wanted to shout, I wanted to scream,
I wanted to confess, even if it’s just a dream
For our time is less and accounted for
But aren’t we now just strangers or are we more?
What would you say if I crossed your way
Would you recognize me and say, “Oh! Hey”,
“Long time no see, how do you do?”
And I would just stare for a second or few
“Fine!” would be a lie but my only answer
Other replies are secrets like thorns with a flower
Then small talks would take over for a minute or two
And we shall resume with laughter or few
But my emotions would kick in and I would stutter
In the same vulnerable tone that you knew better
My eyes would say the truth amongst this lie
They are a mirror to the heart where only you fly
But would we now part with just a goodbye?
A nod to the head or an unspoken cry?
Both eyes now filled with a regretful sigh
Came so close now we are left alone and dry
I hope we meet again when the time is right
To ask the same questions for answers we now hide
