Let’s get it straight, applying for a job is not easy. Constantly optimizing your CV, LinkedIn profile, and cover letter just to prove that you deserve to be interviewed is challenging. But congratulations, you did it! A recruiter reached out to you and invited you to a first call. Now, it’s time for the next challenge — your first interview, during which you’re expected to shine while answering generic questions.

As an ACELR8 Talent Partner, I want to take the black magic out of the first interview and empower those who are ready to take the next step in their careers. I’ll do that by sharing useful tips on how to break out of the imposter syndrome and show an interviewer that you deserve that job!

1. Take time to think about your skills

It sounds simple but often candidates are not very clear about the skills they’re good at. As a practice, look at the job description and write down 3 to 5 values you bring to the company corresponding to the skills mentioned in the job posting.
