A year after acquiring the facility, we have officially moved into the new ACE Center at 51 Gage St. in Worcester. On January 12th, we welcomed ACE students and families to our new headquarters for the first time.

Executive Director Kaska Yawo welcomed the community and spoke about this being a dream more than a decade in the making:

This is one of the most exciting moments of my life. Our organization has come a very long way. This is the first time in history for us to own our own building. Take advantage of what is in your hands. We want you and your children to succeed. The reason we are investing heavily into the children is that they are the next generation . . . one day, your children will take on this organization.

While this move is a milestone for ACE, it also marks the beginning of a multiyear project to recreate this new facility into a space to meet the growing needs of ACE and Worcester’s African communities. ACE is in the early stages of a multifaceted fundraising campaign to raise funds for building renovation, program expansion, and long-term capacity building.

We are incredibly grateful to have recently received federal funding to assist with the renovation of the new ACE Center thanks to the tremendous efforts of Congressman McGovern, Senator Markey, Senator Warren, and their respective teams. This funding brings us closer to our vision of transforming 51 Gage St. into the home ACE students and families deserve.

We thank everyone whose support has helped us to reach this point, including Dan Ivascyn whose leadership giving made it possible for us to acquire our new facility.

We look forward to sharing the journey ahead with all of you!

Staff and families enjoy ACE’s new home during the Open House. Rose Wine Photography.
