CHATGPT:- THE FUTURE?
INTRODUCTION
ChatGPT (chat generative pre-trained transformer) is a word that most of you have probably heard of. It is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot for those who do not know about ChatGPT. It was developed by OpenAI and was launched on 30th November 2022. A new and improved built-in version of ChatGPT was released on 15th December 2022. Microsoft has invested $10 billion in the OpenAI platform and has 46% of the stake ownership of the company.
This AI platform has the potential to transform the learning mechanism as well as the teaching mechanism. Just like any other platform this platform also has certain good and bad impacts on our lives. ChatGPT is also another source of knowledge. In the early stages of our lives, we learnt things from our grandparents, then our parents and then when Google came into existence we would use it as a search platform. For even a small search we look into Google and get a wide range of related information. And now another powerful technology has been introduced- ChatGPT
Now, the big question arises: WILL CHATGPT TAKE OUR JOBS?
ChatGPT taking our jobs is a big matter of concern for most of us. The answer may vary depending on the jobs of the people concerned. But for most of us, the answer to this question is a BIG NO.
You can think of it as when computers were invented in the 18–19’s. The invention of computers must have been a matter of concern for the people at that time. But as we look now, the invention of computers created jobs for many of us. These kinds of systems are designed to ease the work of human beings and not replace them. Although it is able to perform a lot of tasks yet there are many things that these systems cannot perform. And a major factor (key factor) that is involved here is that it cannot think ORIGINALLY. ChatGPT provides data that is always repeated. So for any 2–3 people searching for the same problem but with a unique idea will get the same result from ChatGPT.Don’t you think this is the problem? Within a week of its launch, OpenAI’s platform ChatGPT crossed 1 million users. It has crossed the mark of 100 million users in the month of January. As of 2023, the parent company’s valuation is at $29 billion. Revenue is expected to reach $200 million by the end of 2023 and $1 billion by the end of 2024.
