The easiest way to learn Acroyoga is by finding local teachers or practitioners who can teach you the basics. There are several ways to find acroyoga groups and people near you.

Facebook

The first, and sadly, the most popular way to find a group is through Facebook. Many areas have acroyoga groups for their area, like Acro Boston, Acro Denver, and Acro Austin. Simply go to Facebook and search for the term “Acroyoga” plus your state or largest town near you. This will often help you find a group in your area and you can ask on the group for local class and information.

The downside of this approach is that it is limited to facebook and not everyone uses facebook.

AcroMaps

There is a website: acromaps.com that has a list of a bunch of different acroyoga groups and practitioners across the world. Many groups will send to you to facebook or have a way to connect.

The downside of this website is that is on each group to maintain it’s listing, and many groups get stale.

Internet Search

Many of the larger groups will have a website with information about classes in their area. Searching the internet is a great way to find these pages.

The downside is that even some of the big groups only have facebook pages so searching the internet, you wont find them.

Asking Strangers Who Post Acroyoga Photos

Many acroyogis travel around the country. There are teachers who make their living off of traveling and teaching acroyoga. If you can find one of these people online, you can reach out to them and ask them if they know of a group in your area (or maybe even some people from your area).

While this may work, it requires reaching out to someone cold and teachers don’t always have local connections, that is why I list this one later.

Travel To Learn Acroyoga

There are many acroyoga retreats, conferences, and conventions across the world. These function as opportunities for acroyogis from all over to get together, practice and play. Many of these events will have beginner or all level tracks where there are no requirements and you can learn even if you have no experience. If you are nervous about this, reach out to the event before traveling and attending.
