Confidence — You Got This

Probably the most valuable tool in the actor’s toolbox is confidence.

No, I’m not suggesting you should be full of yourself, or egotistical. That you should not be able to see past the end of your nose.

But at the end of the day, even in the worst cases, this is what you do and you are good at what you do. So, no matter how unprepared you may feel, or unsure, know this…

You got this.

Why? Because you know the character, you know the story/scene/skit or whatever it is that is expected of you. And this is what you do, and you are good at what you do. So no need to fret, or to question your preparedness. Because…

You got this.

And, remember, it’s your job to blow away the audience. Most people in your audience aren’t actors, they don’t do what you do and they are not good at it. So go out there, do what it is you do and blow them away. They don’t know how you do it, to them it’s magic. Because…

You got this. And you make it look easy.

So, shut up, quit fretting, relax and do this thing.
