Osun 2018: INEC pastes names of 48 governorship candidates
AGAINST the backdrop of September 22 governorship poll in Osun, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pasted the names of governorship candidates of 48 political parties contesting during the exercise at the Osun State headquarters of the electoral body, in Osogbo, the state capital.
Beside the names of the standard bearers of the political parties, names of the running mates or deputy governors to the candidates, standing for the elections were also displayed at INEC’s media conference centre.
When the Nigerian Tribune visited the premises, located opposite the Osun State House of Assembly Complex, the names of the 48 political parties and their gubernatorial candidates, coupled with their running mates, include among others…
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola, his running mate is Famurewa Israel Famurewa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governorship candidate: Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, running mate is Albert Abiodun Adeogun, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Governorship candidate: Christopher Iyiola Omisore, running mate is Olalekan Ayanbekun, Action Democratic Party (ADP) Governorship candidate: Adeoti Moshood Olalekan, running mate is Ajishola Yinusa Owoseni.
Others include Alliance for Democracy (AD), Governorship candidate: James Olugbenga Akintola, running mate is Abdulhakeem Oyeniyi Bello, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Governorship candidate: Kazeem Ademola Adio, running mate is Arowolo Oladele, Accord Party (AP), Governorship candidate, Julius Olapade Okunola, running mate is Babatunde Adedapo Olufemi, All Grassroot Alliance (AGA), Governorship candidate: Kehinde Olufemi Lawrence, running mate is Ajayi Olatunji Adebayo and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Governorship candidate: Oluwatoki Adetokunbo Adedayo, running mate is Adefila Mary Olaitan.
The list also includes the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), Governorship candidate: Adediji Olanrewaju Adewuyi, People for Democratic Change (PDC), Dr Kolawole Raufu Ojonla, Restoration Party of Nigeria (RPN), Governorship candidate: Ayodele Tosin Mercy, running mate is Adejumo Mukaila and host of others
