The Beginnings of The Actionroll

Every site on the internet has a beginning, they start off as an idea… there are some which are collections of thoughts, those are blogs. If you want to buy something then you head over to Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, or some other e-commerce site. If you want to watch cat videos, then Youtube is the way to go, luckily for all of us Youtube has more than just cat videos. All of those sites came to be because they had something to offer, we are no any different, we offer insight into new and upcoming movies, we also give our reviews for upcoming movies, we have trailers and soon we will have our podcast and Youtube show up.

The Actionroll is a pretty small website compared to some of the other movie sites out there. It started because of passion, a passion for movies, and that’s pretty much it. Do you need anything more other than passion? We don’t think so. We? Who is we? We is you, we is me, we is anyone who enjoys movies and appreciates the craft of film production. Movies are inspiring, they are experiences, they make the inner fanboy or girl come out in all of us, they fuel our passion for the characters that come to life from books, short stories, short films and the scripts that writers spend their hours working on. The beauty of movies is that they are all subjective, it’s one persons story, another’s vision for that story, and the movie goer’s interpretation is as valid as anyone else’s. it’s truly a form of art.

With all that said, we are a fan site. We are a fan of anyone who finances directors with a great vision, fans of any movie that has ever made you cry but nobody could tell because of the 3D glasses on your face (or maybe on your couch alone so no one will find out) , and fans of the actors, stunt men and women, the editors, the composers, the caterers who deliver some pretty sweet food to everyone on set, but most of all we love the movie fans and the general movie going audience… because we are fans of movies just like you and we ultimately decide if movies become franchises, if they get sequels, or if they are one and done.
