The latest version 0.0.101, released today, includes a long-awaited feature: undo. You can now undo any changes and redo them, walking back and forth through time. (Download Actual)
This feature makes it much less scary to use the app. Accidentally delete a group of categories? Something went wrong with a large import of transactions? Erasing all of those changes is a simple Cmd+Z (or Ctrl+Z if on Windows or Linux) away.
Be aware that this is a new feature and might have bugs. Please report any problems (see links at the bottom of this post for where to report)!
Here is a demo. I tweeted a short demo a few days ago but this one shows a lot more: stepping back through changes across multiple pages, and redoing all of them again to get back to the original state.
This release also includes a lot of bug fixes, especially in the Manage Payees screen. See the release notes for full details.
Another important change is Actual includes some simple, anonymous usage tracking. We use Fathom, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to track basic user count and page views and we host the data ourselves. The feature is turned on by default, but you can opt-out in the “Privacy” section in settings (see the release notes).
Give Actual a try!
