Ready to be on the edge of your seat? This series is full of mystery, excitement and a whole lot of thinking!

As of now — it’s August. It’s been a week since I finished parts 1 & 2 of Money Heist on Netflix and, I think I’d put it down as one of those series I’d LOVE to watch again with a fresh set of eyes. I know I’ve said this before but, If you’re thinking os starting it… DO IT.

All I can say about the movie is that — it’s a money heist. The series is originally in Spanish as it’s production is in Spain and network as well as Spanish actors. In the first episode, you can clearly tell that English speaking voices have been overlayed as speech doesn’t match any characters mouths, however, you soon forget this as the plotline is that good!

I started watching it because of a friend, but also the many Tik Toks I’ve been seeing with the Bello Ciao song:

Below are my thoughts on Season 1 and they will contain ~ SPOILERS ~ so like always… read at your own risk!!

Part 1 thoughts:

Overall, I heavily enjoyed it. The professor thinks of EVERYTHING! Every time something happened I AM AMAZED — here comes another flashback to when he went through the plan… his mind! genius! As for his employees, (basically, employees… I wonder how he recruited them… what was on their CV and can they give us templates?!) my favourites in the first part were Rio and Denver as I felt like they were the two robbers who actually still had a heart for the hostages! Soon, I grew a liking to Moscow and Nairobi too. And, as for the characters, I didn't like — Arturo. No doubt about it. Almost every episode he pipes up. I’m just sat on my bed thinking can he chill for a second? Let them do their job? I get that they intruded and all but Arturo makes it SOOO much harder and some of the stuff he does and says is very unnecessary! And, I, of course, cannot forget the first death of the series — Oslo. He was a quiet man, and his death did come as a surprise as I actually forgot he existed as he has little to nothing lines… but alas, he was a good team member.

I did also feel for Raquel and Angel, however, the professors gotta do what he gotta do. I did tear up though when Angel’s car crashed. It was sad. One thing that did annoy me about the show was the idea of Raquel's mum hearing that voicemail as she was well aware of what happened and the name ‘Sergio’ but why couldn't she link it all? Surely Raquel said his name in front of her? I guess the producers thought because of her age, it can be passed as she would forget. So, didn’t quite like that.

Part 2 thoughts:

QUEEN behaviour from Tokyo here. My liking for her has grown, as well as Nairobi — I think she too has compassion for the hostages. Berlin, not so much. He may be good at heart but he does have a funny way of showing it! Speaking of Berlin, in the final episode when he was shooting the police officers and he was hiding with Adrianna — what happened to her? I assume she was saved but I don’t think they showed it? I didn’t really like her if I’m honest. Also the philosophy teacher, she was good at heart, however, that scene where she wouldn't sit down really irked me! I was just like sit down! Let it be! The scene where Tokyo drove into the Royal Mint was truly amazing, however, another soldier was lost and I was SOBBING. Not only for him but Denver! Somebody else I felt for so much this series was Raquel and when she went on that date with Salva and saw the red piece on his suit I was just like PLEASSEEE LET THIS BE PART OF THE PLAN!! It was not nice for the professor to almost manipulate and use her as he did ALTHOUGH he did say he had genuine feelings for her which at first, I didn’t believe but then I was like but he is a nice guy and he’s just wanting to continue his fathers legacy and live his life. So I accepted it, I gave them my blessing and it was all good on my end.
