3-Vision: How -and why- we came up with our idea.

One of the most important and prominent issues our world is facing these days is the Refugee Crisis. Living in Greece, which, because of its location, is dealing with a massive influx of refugees each month, it was next to impossible for us to not take at least some interest in the problem.

By talking to people and observing what is going on around us, in our city of Athens, as well as many other places in Greece, and particularly the islands in the Aegean, we kept noticing how hateful people often were towards the refugees. Not for any actual reason apart from the fact that they are indeed refugees, foreigners. Yes, there have been various occasions when properties have been ruined or trespassed by refugees and that in no way is right. But hating on someone out of ignorance or just because they came to your country seeking asylum and safe passage to the rest of Europe is not right either. Those people did not leave their country exactly by choice. Their circumstances led them to make a choice; life or death? And after that very hard choice and a dangerous journey, they arrive in a country in large numbers hoping for a better tomorrow. Whether it’s Greece or other countries. They get gathered in certain areas,in cities,or near the borders, living in tents and mostly on the goodwill of locals and the country that is hosting them. But there are never enough necessities and medicines to support them. There is always something missing.

So,seeing all the hate those refugees get and the terrible conditions they have to live in while waiting to get passage to other countries, we felt that it would be a good idea to try and inform people on the situation, so more actions could be taken to aid the refugees,in whatever ways possible.Or at least to get people to stop irrationally hating them.
