AEGEAN Partners with Giannis Antetokounmpo in ‘Greece by Greeks’ Campaign

Aegean Airlines, also known as Aegean Air Force, is the largest private airline in Greece which was established in 1999. The company’s aim is to provide a safe travelling to the passengers, always providing a high level of service at all stages of the journey, with an extensive network routes connecting every corner of Greece as well as Greece to overseas. The company focuses in contributing to the development of tourism in Greece and to create a decent image overseas.

To accomplice these goals, Aegean collaborated with the world-renowned basketball player and NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is well-known and loved in Greece. Its aim is to highlight the Greek sights, traditions and customs, revealing the “secrets” of Greece to the rest of the world.

The campaign introduces the new online platform www.greecebygreeks.gr, presenting the favourite Greek destinations of Antetokounmpo, accompanied by pictures and travel information. It encourages both Greek and foreigners to share their favourite “secret” aspects of Greece with its visitors, giving them a unique experience.

The selection of this specific person was made according to AEGEAN’s vice president Eftychios Vasilakis as “Giannis Antetokounmpo represents a good example of Greece by insisting, confronting difficulties and fighting for a better future. He walked a thousand kilometers to achieve his target. And he does not rest, he is always setting high goals. We are doing the same in AEGEAN: We are trying to bring our passengers closer to destinations they dream of seeing, by carrying them thousands of kilometers away. And we aim to keep getting better.”

Within the campaign “Greece by Greeks”, Aegean created a TV spot starring Giannis Antetokounmpo and the beauties of Greece, which was shown in Greek media.
