The collaboration with Giant Heart

Within a purposeful collaboration with Giant Heart and our Start up AD Agency “Going Viral” , we came up with the idea of promoting a project , which concerns Fencing , a sport that is not as popular in our country. The project would gave to include the construction of an official training and competition center• the first public one in Greece.

Τhe driving force for us was the conversation that prevailed in previous times in the field of sports considering the bestowal of the training center in OAKA (Olympic Athletic Center of Athens) to KAE PANATHINAIKOS for 49 years from the Government.The reported training center is the only one that was contributed to the Hellenic Federation of Fencing across the hole country. In that center many fencing athletes were being trained and all the championships were being held. Therefore, in case this actually happens, hundreds of fencing coaches and athletes will be detached from the sport they are passionate about and a new permanent place to resume their training and ensure the future of fencing in Greece will be needed.

The challenges that we would have to face are mainly three: finding and ensuring the appropriate infrastructure, creating collaborations and securing more funds and last but not least, promoting the sport of fencing and enhancing its publicity. Were we to make this happen , we would get qualified employers to search for suitable infrastructure securing not only the land but also the fencing equipment. Furthermore, the PR Communication team could be mobilized enough, in order of fencing to gain publicity through the mass media and several events. As for the required funding, it would have been collected from partnerships and advertisements. Additionally, the media strategy, would have been divided in two stages of Lancing: the Pre-Launch which includes the presentation of the narrative to partners, the set up of the media dominance and brainstorming and crowdsourcing process, and the Big-Launch which encompasses projection of the narrative in mass media, campaigns open to the public, fundraising events and lastly competitions for free participation in fencing courses.

Were this plan to be achieved, the results would have beed remarkable. First of all, the conditions of training in fencing would have been significantly better. Secondly, people from whatever age group would not have to lose their interest in this sport and neither do those who practice fencing professionally and have built a career because of it. Furthermore, Greece would supposedly have had greater participation in the Olympic games in the field of fencing and those who were already participating would have been more properly trained.

Leading to a conclusion, all in all fencing is a non much known olympic sport to Greek people and we thought that reinforcing athletes of this sport with proper facilities would be of utmost importance, because due to that they would have been still keen on training for the sport they chose and love. For everything that has been mentioned above, the collaboration with Giant Heart was aiming to keep the sport of fencing alive and enhance existing conditions.
