Creating Erasmus Ex-Press

Our Wordpress Project

The Idea

Creating Erasmus Ex-Press was a challenge that was given to us during the Digital Creativity Lab-Apps, Gaming, Coding at Panteion University. The initial challenge was to create a WordPress Page with smart features, simple design, and an idea that could be someday reinforced worldwide.

Our idea was to create a site for the people that have traveled or are planning to travel with the Erasmus Plus Programme. On this website, they can either send us their stories from different experiences they have lived during their mobility or read stories from others. In that way, they will have the chance to both share their story and also be informed about other people’s experiences and be informed about their own Erasmus trip.

Features

Blog

The articles that people will be sending us will be organized in the blog section.

Blogs will be easy to find depending on the country someone is interested in as he will be able to search what they are looking for in the search widget we have available.

It is alsο very easy to find everything through Google search too. We conducted an experiment to prove that e.g someone wants to read a story from someone that has visited Krakow. He or she just types the country and the name of the site and the results will appear.

Photo Gallery

Of course, if someone does not want to write a whole story he or she can send us their photos for us to put in the Gallery section and the Instagram page we have attached.

Forums

We also thought of this very important feature → of a Forum.

In the Forum section, people can have direct communication and discuss their issues and leave questions. For example, someone might be looking for a roommate or for a place to rent.

We have divided the Forum section into three basic categories to make things easier;

→ Accommodation Suggestions

→ Experiences

→ Roommate search

Nowadays, as students that have and will travel through the Erasmus Programme, we know how hard it is to obtain information about those topics Our website offers a simple but very useful solution.

The public can contact us through e-mail. We have made a contact section using the famous plug-in Contact Form 7.

We hope that at some point we can make this website available to the public and start working on it as a real-life project and not just a university project.
