Delta Milk — A Glass Full Of Love

Delta is a greek dairy company, member of the Vivartia Group of companies. It produces and distributes dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, cheese and fresh fruit juices. Delta was founded in 1952 by Aristidis Daskalopoulos. The company began operating with 20 employees and owned 10 vehicles for delivering milk and yogurt. In 1965 Delta launched the first milk to be sold in a plastic bottle.

The company’s vision is “To offer Greek consumers the ability to grow, live and enjoy higher quality food, day after day. To contribute to better living for Greek families. To become global ambassadors for Greek food and diet by offering innovative products of unique quality. To achieve all that, with responsibility towards people, society and the environment. To ensure satisfactory and constantly improving returns for our shareholders, in order to reach a position where we can achieve all the above goals with strength, optimism, insight and permanence.”

In the latest Delta campaign about the association between greek family and Delta, stars Eleftherios Petrounias.

Eleftherios Petrounias -born in 30 November 1990- is a Greek artistic gymnast. He is the 2016 Olympic champion, the 2017 and 2015 World champion, and a four-time (2011/2015–17) European medalist on the still rings (three gold and one bronze).

He is not only a great, young athlete, but also he and his mother are the faces of the new Delta campaign (Behind Every Try), which was released earlier on 2018. The new message “ A glass full of love” tells the real life story of the golden Olympic medalist and this mother, since childhood. Sophia Petrounia is shopping Delta milk for her household and looks back on the struggles of her son and his hard work. Many flashbacks create a journey of memories and the viewers are able to see real videos and pictures of Eleftherios Petrounias training hard, learning through trial and error, growing up taking part in competitions. Throughout all of achievements his mother is always there to protect and support him.

We get to see Sophia in the present alone in a room praying and wishing the best for his son while the rest of the family are in the leaving room watching Eleftherios’ acts in a competition. His mother cannot bear to watch his performance and prefers to stay alone and calm praying for him, be beside him with the way a mother can only be, with her whole heart. Only when Eleftherios has successfully completed his gymnastic act can finally feel relieved and join the rest of the family to celebrate. At the end we get to see our golden Olympic medalist returning home to his mother and putting her on the golden medal he won. They both sit down and spend some time together while drinking Delta milk.

There is something more than just a milk company and a well-designed campaign. If we think about it more there is nothing more natural for the human kind than the bond that a mother shares with her child. Now, milk is the practical base of this bond as it’s actually the first food that we eat when we come to this world! The picture of a mother and milk, in this case Delta milk, is something separated, reminding the viewers that Delta has always been there in their lives through through thick and thin, and that allegory is brilliant in our opinion! Of course the choice of this duo in not accidental, as Eleftherios Petrounias has stroke a chord in our patriotic feeling the moment he raised the Greek flag in the highest position of the Olympic podium for the whole world to see and admire. He is young, talented and a good role model for everyone. But no one ever imagined that behind a great athlete, there is a patient mother that worries sick for her child until now…

All these deep- rooted emotions have managed to surface due to this touching campaign and acknowledge Delta as the Greek dairy company that has always been there by our side like a loving mother! Below you can find the link of the advertisement. Enjoy!!
