E.DE.M.’s project
This fall semester, as part of our Ad & PR Lab sessions, my team, E.DE.M. and I had the opportunity to learn and eventually, master some great and really useful skills when it comes to shooting and editing videos, so that we can create our own in order to promote a product or a service. Although we were assigned to do this specific task, we never saw it as an actual assignment. We had a lot of fun shooting and experimenting with all the different editing apps and programs and we had the chance to discover and develop our creative side. We truly enjoyed ourselves.
To begin with, we decided to promote a service, specifically an animal shelter, “Save the tails” in Petroupoli, Greece. One of our team members, Eirine, came up with the idea, as she herself is a volunteer at the forenamed shelter. Of course, we found her suggestion ideal, since three out of four of us owns a pet and therefore we didn’t bother search for any other ideas.
Our main goal by promoting an animal shelter is to raise awareness, not only of animal abuse and abandonment but also of adopting a pet rather than buying it. Additionally, we would like to send a message to those who may be unable to take care of their pet, due to personal reasons, to NOT abandon, but to give it up for adoption. There are plenty of other people who would love to have one, either it is a dog or a cat. So, we are mostly refering to anyone who’s willing to have a pet in the near future and might wondering what it is preferable, buying or adopting.
Eventually, the final result was exactly what we wanted, even though we hoped for a little more engagement with our viewers. It didn’t take us long to film or edit the video though,and our little friends were more than kind to help us carry it out.

What’s quarantine like? Being restricted for days, unable to live your life? Afraid? Alone?Sad? Confused? This is what it feels like for a dog, being stuck in a shelter, waiting for someone to save it. So do yourself a favour and give joy to one of these dogs. Give them their life back and you can be assured that they will be forever grateful Do you want a dog? ADOPT, DO NOT SHOP!
