M.AD.IDEAS: How to build a brand?

Case study: L’Oreal Paris

One of our assignments through Ad Discovery and Creativity Lab with professor Betty Tsakarestou was to select a brand and to present it as a case study to show that it is a good example of Experiential Branding or Me-branding strategy. My team “M.Ad.Ideas” decided to choose L’Oreal as a case study. First of all, it is better to start with a description of what is Experiential branding. It is about the experience that consumers are looking to find in products. The important thing is that the company in this way shows not only what it offers but also what values it represents. Let’s see how L’Oreal did it. It is a French company was founded in 1909 and specializes in cosmetics for men and women. Now, it is a multinational company that has spread rapidly around the world. The keyword that made this company so famous and stands out is “difference”.

L’ Oreal’s differentiators • Logo : Ιs an element that makes this company special since the name of the company is recorded on it

  • Colour: black and white predominate. However, products and packaging change colors frequently
  • Photographs: Taking a look at the company’s social media means it is clear that it uses images that give a nice aesthetic. So the company and its products remain unforgettable
  • Website: The company has different sites for each country with a different design. This helped make it a multinational and so successful brand

Generally, L’oreal has high values and always seeks to be close to the customer and his needs. That’s why it produces a variety of products that meet these needs and thus gains the trust of its customers. Has managed to gain a huge number of followers worldwide. Μore specifically, it attracts ages from 26 to 65 years old with a higher percentage of women and then men.
