OPAP — Experience THE GAME

Six months ago OPAP launched a new campaign called “experience the game” focusing on one of its main values, the joy of the game. The campaign starts with a regular morning in the city, where everyone has their routine. Suddenly, the classic symbol of an OPAP agency comes to life. So, mr. OPAP, as a huge human being, starts to walk around in the streets and give away balls to the people in order to play. Even though they are surprised, they catch the colorful balls and they immediately join the game. Τhe scene, turns from a classic morning into a happy hour. It turns from a Monday into a Friday! So, what is it that can make something boring become fascinating? What is the key to enjoyment?

In this campaign OPAP spreads the message that playing can make people enjoy every single moment, experience strong feelings and believe that anything can happen. Mr OPAP’s invention is here to remind us that there is something deep inside us that we know well: how nice it is to experience the game every day. So, once again OPAP has created a campaign which represents one of its biggest ideas, experiencing the (focusing on the overall experience and joy of the game) experience and the joy of the game instead of the game itself. Finally, the campaign successfully conveys its secondary message, that “anything can happen”, by bringing an object to life, and turning something that seems impossible into possible.
