Our Startup Company Media M

This article refers to our startup marketing company Media M, a work in “Introduction to Advertising and Public Relations” class led by Mrs. Betty Tsakarestou.

In our final task in “Introduction to Advertising and Public Relations” (Ad discovery and creativity Lab), we were asked to create our own innovative media startup company or agency in-house innovation hub, and then implement a social media campaign for a real-world startup company of our choice.

After our first meeting in the workshop, together as a team, we decided to create our own marketing company named Media M, conceptualized as “ created and run by millennials ”.

We millennials are now facing an increasingly fragmented and cluttered digital world and we Media M want to use our strength in social marketing and creativity to help brands, especially young and innovative brands, matter in this new age. Also, with cultural diversity within our team, we aspire to focus on the connections between different cultures and use them to help international brands enter the local market and local corporations globalized. We now base in Athens, and plan to have a global network via expanding to Shanghai, London, Sydney and Los Angeles in the future.

The services we provide are more about digital operation such as content marketing, social marketing, digital marketing, E-commerce, data analysis, performance media, online customer engagement. But according to the requirements and the budget of our client, we can also provide traditional intelligent management services including public relations, event planning, innovation, shopper and retail activation, so on and so forth.

The main reason why our team chose to create our own agency from the beginning is that we put much stress on the value we stand for. So, instead of being an in-house innovation hub following others’ value, we determined ourselves. We are not only willing to embrace the differences and put them to use, but also more than ready to shoulder the corporate social responsibility. By saying responsibility here, we, on the one hand, as a marketing company we are responsible for our client, on the other hand, we care about social public welfare and prefer marketing for good reasons, which means we will give privileges to NGO as our clients. And surely we Media M as a start-up company would try to identify individuals, mainly young people like us and organizations, which share our vision and goals, but also will help us meet our initiatives.

By now, we have 4 team members within Media M: Ioannis Kogias as Social Media Manager and I.T, Ashley Zhu as Community and Account Manager, Maria-Eleni as Creative Manager, Maria-Aikaterina as Business Development. And we have created our Instagram account, where post the campaign (two versions) for our very first client LES ÈCARTÈS.

The thing is that though we intend to have international and regional bodies and organizations as clients, we also like to cooperate with other influential and individuals, in which way we could have more sources in social media and the whole potential network would benefit back to our following clients.
