Our story behind the innovation brand!

Few months ago we were just a bunch of strangers, then Ad&Pr Lab happened. At the beginning of the course we were asked to create in groups, an agency in order to promote a brand created by us from scratch. At the beginning we were just 4 persons, which that meant that we were fewer than we had to. So we uploaded an ad in the group we had in Facebook and 4 other people joined us. So, we became a team and started to work really hard.

For starters, we had to come up with a name. We wanted to be short and easy to remember so we created the agency “Strange Think”, inspired by the famous series named “Stranger things” which almost everybody is familiar with, even if they had never seen the series, as the show is widely known by youngsters. This was the tip of the iceberg as we had to plan every little detail for our brand. As we proceeded we had to come up with a brand idea, which was harder than we thought it would be. This brand had to be innovative, fresh and mostly competitive to other similar brands in that domain. So, without any further we had a meeting in a cafe we used to hang out for other projects, in which everyone presented their initial idea for the brand. Numerous innovative ideas were recommended in that meeting, but after a couple of hours we all agreed to bring to life the “psychologicapp” and started develop a plan including all the things needed (price, target group, communication strategy, etc.). Although it was a difficult task, it turned out to be one of the most inspiring things to do and we were all able to experience how stressful a condition like that could be.

Our Brand Logo

PsychologicApp

Our first project for ADandPR Lab was to create a brand by ourselves and organize the advertising strategy in about four weeks. Our team decided to keep up with an app, the PsychologicApp. So what is PsychologicApp and how it operates? First of all, this app is addressed to people that needs psychological support. If you are interested in, you have nothing but download the psychologicapp and inside of this platform you are able both watching consulting videos and make some online psychological sessions with an expert that you choose in a low price. In this way, we give to people the chance to have wherever and whenever they need psychological support and choose the expert that suits them choosing him by a dating video that every psychologist has in his own profile. The structure of the site is based on four categories such as informative videos, online conferences, types of psychologists and types of mental health problems. We wanted to use these 4 categories to help as many people as we can to find the perfect solution for them. The consumers will be able to sign in and make an account, watch some videos of the people we work with and have a free trial at first. After finishing our team work we had to make a big presentation in order to complete our mission, as it happened. This project was our first work concerning marketing and advertising and we were very enthusiastic. We learnt how to work as a big team, as we were consisting of eight members and how to help each other aiming to achieve our goals. Moreover we loved this field, we understood many things about how advertising market operates and we conquer valuable knowledge for our future job. At last we got some useful tips on how we make a good presentation, as we will be invited to do many of them in the duration of our professional career. AdandPR Lab taught as a lot and we are thankful for that!

The story behind the PsychologicApp

Our app designed based on our two main ideas. Someone suggested the idea of psychologists and another person thought of online sessions. From these ideas our big idea was created, the Psychologic app!

As a team we thought that everyone needs a council in his life. In the beginning, to make sure that our app will succeed, we made a questionnaire to see if our idea will work. The results of our questionnaire were very good showing a big amount of people that wanted a counsellor from their home. The audience we wanted to focus was the age from 18–60 years old.

The second step we took was to do a research of our competitors. The biggest competitors will always be psychologists that have the traditional sessions with their clients. Another one is the emergency phone lines, online chat rooms with specific psychologists on scheduled hours and some other websites that offer counseling but not in Greece, for example in the United Kingdom. Our competitors weren’t an obstacle to our idea as the app we wanted to create was different and unique.

At the end, the app was made successfully and we had positive feedback! The same happened with our Instagram page called “Psychologic.app” where we are socially active. We post positive and motivational thoughts, videos etc. some days of the week that people find really attractive.

The Strategy

To start creating our innovation brand we are designing our strategy. First of all, we thought to focus on our target group who are students, unemployed and people with low incomes that cannot afford a psychological support. Since the app provides them with videos of the doctors introducing themselves and analyzing some issues, customers are given the chance to become familiar with them and see if they are in their preference for free before they start their sessions. What makes as unique as company is our positioning which you can find psychologist everywhere and we bring them to your place anytime you want, with lower cost than usual and also you choose the psychologist that fits your character, meets you needs after watching their video.

Our experience from ADandPR Lab

And after all, it’s that time of the semester that we have to storytelling our impressions about the things we done during ADandPR Lab! First, it would be better to talk about our experiences and the memorable thing we learnt. In the beginning of Lab, our teachers Mark Aris, Lina Bakalexi and Betty Tsakarestou gave as the opportunity to meet the amazing world of advertising and marketing strategy. After a few lectures from the beginning of semester, we were invited to do our first project: to create not only an advertising company but moreover to create our brand. It was a big deal for our team, something like that! The fact that we did not emerge the ‘’Greece’s Next Top Marketer’’, we think we done a decent work. Nevertheless, the hard working did not end there. Some days later they announced as that will gave as a brief from Coca Cola. This brief was to create an advertising campaign on behalf of the company’s new product: Coca Cola Energy. This time, we had to find ideas and ways in order to promote the specific product. And the hard working started once again. This project was based on a real job and so the requirements were increased. We had only one month to accomplish it. So it happened! In the last lecture we gathered at the office of Coca Cola Greece and made our last presentation for this semester. It was a big chance, not only for our team, but for all of my fellow students, to do all these things for such a big company and we will never forget it.

This lab ended, but it gave as memories we will never forget. ADandPR Lab was not only study and hark work but we learned how to work as a team, how to achieve our goals, how to work under pressure and strict deadlines, how to do new things, how to find new ideas, how to talk in front of many people, how to believe in our work, how our feet tremble before the moment of presentation and how we relax after it, how to try to become better and better, how to accept that someone else had better ideas than ours and the other time we do the best in order to getting over him, how to dare to do things unless the fears, the difficulties and the challenges, how to make it happen or how to disaster all and begin from the start and at last the most important thing we learned to trust ourselves and accomplish everything we want, with hard work!
