Our year in Ad&Pr Lab
The first lab that was held for AD & PR LAB was a unique experience. For the most of us it was a first connection in the marketing and advertising industry. Our two professors, Markos Ariss and Lina Bakalexi, helped us all to get to know this field thoroughly from the start. In every course the presentations were detailed and helpful to understand every part of the marketing field. Another important way they were keeping us focused was the jokes and the intimacy they had with us. Moreover, it was very interesting that in a lot of courses we had professional guests from the marketing industry that taught us significant marketing tips and made us see from another point of view.
Our second lab with Mr. Kaperonis had a more digital and practical approach on things.
We started our lessons by expanding our knowledge on WordPress with Mr. Kontaxis. We liked the fact that the teachers found a creative way to connect our theoretical knowledge that we had acquired in the past two years of our studies with the practicality of the lab.
We also learned how to make use of our phone for video producing and editing. Kinemaster was a useful tool that we discovered and used without needing special abilities and resources. In addition, we created a video with the 5 basic shooting angles that Mr Kaperonis told us. It was a great experience because we got out of the classroom and we had the chance to wander into the streets of Plaka.
Two of our guests -our least favorite- highlighted the importance of user experience and we understood that is necessary to create a pleasant experience and a friendly site for every possible user. Our team chose a site and we tried to list its ux problems. Another task was to get familiarized with proto.io and learn how to develop apps and we were able to prototype our first app. In our last lesson, we learned about an alternative way to think by optimizing our ideas in a specific template. The purpose of this, was to give feedback and tell our personal opinion about AD & PR Lab.
In general, this lab was very helpful because we expanded our digital knowledge in ways we hadn’t before. It was very challenging and to achieve that we had to create a flexible schedule for all of the team in order to work efficiently and submit our projects before the assigned deadlines.
