ParkRESERVE: a new parking experience
The purpose of the project
Within the bounds of the course ‘Advertising and Public Relations’, our professor Mrs Betty Tsakarestou gave us the assignment of building our own start-up company from the beginning. As a team, we discussed what kind of company this should be and what kind of service should it provide. From our discussions, we decided that we wanted to start a company which would help people to deal with a very common problem. We know from our experiences that one of the most common problems faced by Athenians is finding a place to park.
What is it about?
How many times have you found yourselves searching for a single parking spot and ended up leaving your car way far from your destination? How many times have you lost your temper because every parking spot was reserved? Have you ever counted the time you have spent searching without success? Have you ever thought about the wasted fuel and the additional pollution caused?
PARK RESERVE is here and makes your life easier and better. You cannot be lucky every time and find a parking spot when you need one (unless you are super lucky, which is good for you). For all those drivers out there who spend considerable time in this quest, this application is the ultimate solution. It’s good for the environment too!
How it works:
Designed to make your life easier, Park Reserve App searches for available parking spots near you via satellite. This clever application works with Wi-Fi or cellular data and provides you the greatest parking experience. The app will find a parking space close to your destination in real-time using GPS, location, webcams and parking data. Not only does it offer a solution to everyone’s problem but reduces the stress and anxiety of trying persistently to find the most convenient parking spot.
Why Park Reserve?
The Park Reserve App reduces significantly the time you spend trying to find a parking spot, as it searches for places where there is available parking and also tells you which streets to avoid because your search will be pointless. It tries to find the nearest free parking spot and when there is no free spot, it searches for private parking garages for which you can pay using your mobile device. The app also enables you to save your favourite parking location for next time.
Other advantages
With Park Reserve, you can request certain requirements such as covered parking or oversized vehicle parking. By going to app settings, you can choose a parking spot that meets your specific needs. This means that it offers parking spots with different characteristics, for example parking spots for disabled or old people. By prior arrangement, you can also request valet parking at certain locations. Last but not least, Park Reserve is offered without any cost. The app is free and in addition provides in-app shopping selections.
