Pet City GR- The Big Brand Theory

One could wonder, why should a petshop chain store, have its own social media strategy, who would that cater to? Well the answer is simple, all loyal pet owners are constantly searching for what’s best, for their beloved companions, and therefore always in need for new offers and products.

Pet City is the biggest petshop chain store in Greece, without facing any serious competition regionally. The popularity of the stores, led to the creation of all sorts of social media accounts. Currently Pet City, has an active Facebook and Instagram account, while also having it’s own website, which of course includes an eshop. Both Instagram and Facebook, upload promotional and informative posts.

In this case, in Greece the target group is middle and upper-middle class pet owners, aged 21–45. To speak more generally , our target group are people who not only love their pets, but have the advantage to spend money on them.

Our goal as social media strategy creators, is to expand the social media platforms which are used, and also to expand the target audiences. So far Pet City is not active on TikTok or Twitter, both of which, cater to young audiences. We plan to change that, by uploading fun videos , and making new challenges , that will lead to more interaction from younger people.

More engagement with our customers, will have as a result a more positive and personalised look on the brand.
