Refugees crisis in Greece. How racist are Greeks?

For months , more and more refugees , mainly Syrians , attempting to transit in hazardous conditions in the Aegean from the Turkish coast to reach at Europe. Many of them drowned in their attempt for a better life away from the war while others are <trapped> in Greece .

Nowadays it is estimated that there are 58000 refugees across the country. However , the refugees were well received in a country with many financial problems, 25 % unemployment and unstable political situation.Of course there are isolated incidents of reactions against refugees but the most of Greeks are willing to help.Greeks have organized social health and pharmacy, housing programs centers and even socially camps for refugees. Most of these are run by volunteers , people who , despite being bankrupt and unemployed , they manage to somehow help those who are in more difficult situation.Simple citizens, either individually or as members of groups collect everyday clothes, food and bare necessities in families of refugees and immigrants despite the financial difficulties which themselves faced. The Greeks appear to have sensitivity and solidarity with the refugee crisis.Hospitality is in the Greek’s DNA since antiquity and and is a feature of Greek culture.Besides greeks several times have been forced to migrate in the 20s ,60s and even nowadays.
