#Thatsnotlove campaign. One Love

“That’s not love” is a campaign by One Love organization, which raises awareness about the importance of a good relationship and the ways that it can be transformed into a harmful one. The campaign was first launched on social media and Youtube at 2015 to demonstrate the forms of abusive and unhealthy relationships and how certain manipulative actions can be considered as love gestures. It consists of five chapters, each one aiming to reveal and inform about the abusive manners in relationships and motivate young people to distinguish love from control.

The first chapter is “behind the post”, which aims to show people that social media can picture a fabricated version of reality; everyone who posts photos of them looking happy and healthy may be not like that in their real lives. So, it is a warning that all should bear in mind the fact that a relationship portayed on a social medium as healthy might be the opposite and that no one should be affected to stay in a abusive relationship so as to maintain their status.

The second one is “because I love you” series. It is about this particular phrase, which is considered to be the best example of an simple line that may lead from best interests to abuse and control. It is said that just because someone say that they love someone else is not the excuse for every demand or behavior and that people shound not succumb to it.

The third part is the “Couplets”; couplets define what an abusive relationship compared to a healthy one. According to it, there are 10 signs that can help people to understand whether or not they should keep their relationship.

The next chapter is “asterisc”. In this one, it is said that there are phrases like “I love you” that can manipulate the other human and effect or restrain the way they act or think. Also, it is stated that one simple phrase that has a positive meaning may come with bad and abusive motives.

Last but not least, the fifth part of “love labyrinth”. This one is the most important because the feeling of imprisonment in a relationship is what make people to stay in it. The sense of a relationship trap can lead to fear and actions must be taken against it, in order for individuals to be truly free and having healthy and caring relationships.
