The creation of ADapt

Despite the unprecedented circumstances that we had to deal with during this semester, the Ad Discovery and Creativity Lab managed to overcome the difficulties of the situation and operated efficiently through a digital platform.

Through the formation of teams that operated as real agencies, we learned for the first time what it’s like to perform under pressure, come up with creative ideas and -most importantly- be part of the Ad and PR industry.

It all started in the first lesson of the Ad Discovery and Creativity Lab when the five members of our team came together and formed ADapt. Although we had never cooperated before, we clicked instantly and we created a friendly atmosphere. The fact that we shared a common vision and had the same values, made our cooperation easier.

The first step in the creation of our agency was to choose a name that encapsulated our essence. During a brainstorming session -a method that we used throughout the semester- we found the name ADapt most suitable, since we wanted to be an agency that adapts to new circumstances in the advertising world in order to overcome the challenges that may occur along the way. In combination with our name, we created a memorable logo and two slogans. Next up, the roles were distributed based on the personality and qualities of each member. Although we had distributed roles, everyone was contributing to everything. The creation of an interactive, entertaining and friendly video was, finally, deemed an ideal way to introduce ourselves.

Since we were all interested in social matters, we agreed that our agency should represent these values and be oriented in that field. Our main focus was to provide advertising and promotional services and, more specifically, campaigns with social impact. Brands that strive to have a deeper impact on society have always been inspiring for us, so we wanted to follow their path and share a social message through our campaigns.We also put emphasis on the interaction between the client and our agency while having a more youthful and creative gaze.

These steps took place through a span of some weeks. All members put an effort to define our agency’s special identity and find exactly what do we wanted to represent. It was a fun and truly interesting start and we reached the first milestone with pride. Now, what we had to do was work hard to learn more and evolve our agency. It’s safe to say that the journey had just begun…
