Starting today, we’ll be bringing you weekly updates on our progress and plans for the AdaCards project.

It’s been a busy few weeks behind the scenes! The team has been working hard to upgrade our high-volume NFT platform and preparing for the second AdaCards release. Here are the highlights of what we’ve been working on:

Track Your Card Collections

We’ve added several new features to our website to allow AdaCard holders to view and track their collections. Select the Browse link on the top bar to see the available options. Note that the pages below are updated approximately every 3 hours, so changes in card ownership will not be immediately displayed.

Several new ways to track your card collections!

Collections

You can now easily see all of the AdaCards in your collection (as long as they’re in the same wallet). Just enter any receiving address (or your wallet stake key) into the search bar next to Collections to view all of the cards in your collection.

Achievements

We’ve also added achievements for collectors to earn! You can view your progress towards each achievement by clicking the Expand button.

Twitter Giveaways

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and enter our daily AdaCards giveaways. We’re giving away a card from each of the 33 pools in Series 1. We’ve given away cards from about half of the pools so far, so there are still about two weeks of giveaways remaining!

Complete your Series 1 collection while the cards are still available!

Series 1 Wrap-Up

We have several improvements and new ideas planned for Series 2 (more on that in the next section). To implement these changes while being fair to those who already own cards from the first release, we will be burning all remaining Series 1 cards before the release of Series 2. This will allow us to re-mint the unreleased cards under Series 2 and, as a side effect, will increase the rarity of Series 1 — so be sure to get your Series 1 cards before they’re gone. We want to thank everyone who purchased AdaCards from the initial release. We’ve learned a lot over the last several weeks and have received very useful feedback from the community.

Series 2 Release

We are excited to announce that AdaCards Series 2 will be released this summer, including many more community-run stake pools to collect! Below are some of the changes and improvements we plan to make for this release:

New Card Design

Each card release is designated with the series number in the lower right corner of the card. Additionally, the Series 2 cards will feature a new card background to distinguish them from Series 1.

Increasing Number of Rare and Epic Cards

We’ve received feedback that there were too many common cards in Series 1. While we wanted the rare cards to actually be rare, it seems we made them a little too rare.

We hear you!

For Series 2, we’ve decided to double the number of rare and epic cards. Every 5th pool block will be a rare card and every 50th pool block will be an epic. (Legendary cards will remain unchanged and will still be extremely rare.) This means approximately 80% of cards will be common, 18% of cards will be rare, 2% will be epic, and there will still be a maximum of 3 legendary cards per pool (until the Alonzo hard fork).

Improving Rarity Distribution for Larger Pools

For Series 1, we decided to cap the maximum number of cards minted per stake pool to 500. For pools that had made more than 500 blocks, we randomly selected the blocks for which to mint cards. This meant that many higher rarity cards for these pools did not get selected, and they had a higher percentage of common-rarity cards than smaller pools. To keep the rarity distribution fair for all pools, for Series 2, we will ensure that all pools have approximately the same percentage of each rarity.

We will maintain the limit of 500 cards per stake pool for all of the Shelley era. This means we will not mint more than 500 cards for a single pool across Series 1 and 2 (and any Shelley cards in Series 3). Additionally, we will never create duplicate cards for the same block. Any cards sold in Series 1 will not be eligible to be created in any future release.

Card Pack Options and Reduced Card Price

We plan to provide more options for card packs in Series 2. Additionally, due to the increased value of ADA, we will decrease the overall card price to maintain competitive pricing with other NFT projects.

New Policy ID

All Series 2 cards will be minted under a new policy ID, and we will delete the keys used to mint the Series 1 cards after we burn the remaining tokens so that no new Series 1 cards can ever be created.

SPO Signups

A signup page for stake pool operators interested in being included in Series 2 will be published within the next day or two. Be sure to notify your favorite community SPOs if you’d like to see their cards included in this release!

Series 3 (Alonzo Era) Plans

We plan to release Series 3 cards in the Fall after the Alonzo Era launches (and smart contracts are released!) The Alonzo hard fork will mean a new set of legendary cards for each pool that mints a block in the first epoch of Alonzo.
