Virtual Reality: How can you experience it today?

Interacting with a virtual world in real life it is no longer part of a Sci-fi movie, the revolution is already here! This technology has evolve so quickly from the archaic prototype glasses to the kick ass immerge headsets with 3D sound and the improved tracking system. This article tries to display the latest headset technology for VR and outline some environments that you might not know yet.

The easiest way:

  • Google Cardboard: The simplest and easier to build. You just need your smartphone and your cardboard viewer. You can build it yourself with google’s specifications or buy it online. Install the app in your smartphone and ready to go.

Getting more professional:

  • Oculus Rift: Developed by Oculus VR division of Facebook Inc. It has an OLED panel for each eye with a resolution of 1080x1200 pixel. The refresh rate is 90 Hz with a globally refresh and low persistence (removes the blur that you find normally on the monitors).   • PlayStation VR or Project Morpheus: OLED panels with resolution of 960x1080 pixel. You can choose from 90Hz and 120Hz and low persistence. For the tracking system it uses a Playstation camera and as controllers you have the dualshock 4. Check it online.
  • HTC VIVE: OLED panels with resolution of 1080x1200 pixel. The refresh rate is 90 Hz. It has a safety feature, a camera on the front of the headset, allows the user to see their surroundings without taking off their headset. This technology it is not only for lonely people… If you want to try it with your friends or family, there are lots of new spaces that offer it. Actually, the amount of businesses based on virtual reality experience is increasing as people are starting to consider it a new entertainment.
