We can choose to ignore 240 years of history for racist, illogical hubris of one part of our multiracial, multicultural, and multilingual liberal democracy. Or we can choose to self-sabotage our struggling fully functional democracy. The messiness of democracy is why it is so great in the minds of the 18th century oppressed rich people that founded America.
