My mental health check-up went quickly and well, so I hoped to stop off and deliver my petition to change my name at the county clerk’ s office in the Court House. That was a mistake in hindsight. I never heard or read a warning that I needed $200, I found to be actually $272, cash to submit it and still needed ink fingerprints.
