Diabetic Cyborg Life 6/17: Insights from the Abyss

Not feeling more than a nudge at best from coffee is one sign that you might have something amiss in your body. Another perception I realized too late is constant thirst might be a sign of diabetes or type 2 diabetes. As an adult on-set of type 1 diabetes is rare, though it happened to me. Type 2 diabetes is becoming more and more common as our diets get worse and full of sugar and carbs.

The last insight I realized too late is something more common in men and former athletes, or more physically active people. That is pain, mental or physical, that you assume is normal for X or Y reason is never really that “normal.” Your job, as a patient, to whoever your primary care doctor is to decide that is “normal.”

Let them tell you that you are normal or find out why you’re actually feeling pain. Not living in constant mental or physical pain is something we all need to desire.
