We are proud to announce a major milestone on our 2018 roadmap has been achieved with the delivery of version 1.0 of the Adbank platform ahead of schedule.

Version 1.0 is an improved, stable and secure version of Beta 2.5 with some enhanced features that will benefit both advertisers and publishers on Adbank-powered ad networks.

New features added to Adbank 1.0 include:

  • More secure and stable architecture
  • File formats supported now include DHTML, HTML5, overlay and inline video
  • Automatic matching for improved targeting
  • Industry standard anti-fraud
  • Conversion and goal tracking
  • Geotargeting (by country)
  • Interactive video banner support
  • External ad server tracking

More Ways To Advertise

Adbank now supports more ad formats that advertisers love with the addition of DHTML, HTML5, overlay and inline video. We’ve also increased the supported sizes for ad placements (see table below for the full list).

Image ads are delivered through iframe and video ads are delivered through VAST 2.0. The supported image types are now jpeg, gif, png and swf.

Adbank doesn’t host video files so all video content must be provided using direct URL to the ad video. Supported video formats include mp4, webm and flv.

Automatic Matching

Banners in the Adbank platform are linked to placements using a new automatic matching process. It considers variables such as campaign rate, website price, keywords, geo-target, dimensions and banner/placement types to match advertisers with the best possible publishers.

Conversion & Goal Tracking

Before Adbank 1.0, the only metrics an advertiser could track were impressions and clicks. The addition of conversion & goal tracking gives advertisers the ability to track how much of their campaign traffic is taking the desired action, such as submitting a form or reaching the order confirmation page after making a purchase on a website.

This makes it much easier to determine the ROI of a campaign or a particular target audience.

An example of where advertisers can track conversions on their campaigns

External Ad Server Tracking

Advertisers are often skeptical of the data in their campaign dashboards (with good reason). This is why we made it a priority to support external ad server tracking to allow advertisers to use any platform of their choice to give them their own data alongside data tracked by the Adbank platform.

Geotargeting

Advertisers often need to target or exclude specific areas from their campaigns and they can now do that easily within the 1.0 interface. This is an important feature for customers of the Intergalactic Ads network that often can’t market to people in certain countries due to securities laws.

Industry Standard Anti-Fraud

While we await the deployment of Adbank’s anti-fraud AI system, we’ve deployed new tools into the platform to help prevent advertisers from paying for bot-driven traffic.

Most of the time, impression fraud is encountered when ads are counted as served without being displayed to the visitor. This type of fraud is commonly executed by malware or a virtual browser. These fraudulent networks can deliver hundreds of millions of fraudulent impressions per day.

Another common type of ad fraud is click-based fraudulent activities that prevent the advertiser from getting reliable analytics. For this we have implemented mechanisms to prevent incorrect-conversions-based (duplicate conversions) fraudulent activities. The overall mechanism is to detect the conversions by the same IP address and block any duplicates.

Interactive Video Banners

Video has become the most consumed form of content on the internet and our newest ad type capitalizes on that trend.

Advertisers now have the option to select Interactive Video as creative for their campaigns in the same spot they upload images and HTML5 banners. We’re excited to see more publishers adopt this feature in the near future on the Intergalactic Ads network.

What’s Next?

As we continue to forge ahead on our 2018 roadmap, the next major milestones will define the future of the Adbank platform.

Now that Adbank 1.0 has deployed successfully, development for our anti-fraud AI engine and SDKs for existing ad networks can now begin. Thriving as a crypto-based advertising business will depend on Adbank’s ability to create new value in the ecosystem and the path ahead will embark on some of our best efforts yet toward that goal.
